DJ Rowell |
DJ ROWELL is a Marion native born to David, Sr and Phylishia Rowell. He’s founder and Chief Executive Officer of a community organization known as the DJ ROWELL Foundation. DJ is a 2011 Marion High School graduate, where his talents granted him the opportunity to play 4 years of Varsity basketball before obtaining an athletic scholarship to Ohio Valley University. After college basketball, DJ had the opportunity to work as an intern with the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, which led him to participate in a cross country road tour for 3 years with one of America’s top Country Music Acts. After life on the road ended, DJ turned his interests to entertainment. Since then, DJ has been successful with starting his own podcast. He has also found success as a speaker as well as an actor, with landing a lead role in a feature film set to release in December 2020. DJ is a dreamer and an optimist who believes all things are possible with consistency, work ethic, and confidence. DJ’s beliefs led him to the foundation of a pivotal organization which has granted the community with an outlet that embraces youth and pushes them to reach their highest limits! |
JALISA WASHINGTON

Jalisa Washington is a Marion native, born to James, III and Joycelyn Washington. She is the youngest of three, one brother and one sister. Jalisa is also the mother of one son, Landon James, 3. Jalisa attended Marion High School where she excelled in academics as well as participated in a number of sports and clubs. She was a 4 year Varsity Competitive Cheerleader (9th -12th) and a 6 year Varsity Softball Player (7th-12th). Jalisa graduated from Marion High School in May 2011. She continued to further her education after receiving a full academic scholarship to Claflin University where she majored in Biochemistry. Jalisa graduated from Claflin University in May 2015. She is currently using her gifts to further educate and promote the youth as a school teacher. Jalisa believes that to whom much is given, much is required, therefore because she is so blessed, she wants to do what she can to bless others. Jalisa joined the DJ Rowell Foundation in March 2018 where she has been able to witness in great capacities the growth of the many of the youth in Marion County.
