The Holiday Backpack Drive
The Holiday Backpack Drive is the DJ Rowell Foundation’s way of sending love — freely, intentionally, and without expectation — to children and families facing the most difficult moments of the year.
Born during the COVID-19 pandemic, this initiative was created to bring comfort and encouragement to pediatric patients who were unable to return home for the holidays. In partnership with children’s hospitals and family care organizations, we deliver thoughtfully prepared backpacks filled with essentials, surprises, and holiday cheer to young fighters spending the season in care.​
Each backpack represents more than what’s inside. It carries a message of support, appreciation, and solidarity — a reminder that these children and their families are not alone, and that their strength inspires us just as much as we hope to uplift them.​
At its heart, the Holiday Backpack Drive is about sharing love during a season when it’s needed most. We hope this act of giving restores a sense of warmth and hope, while also inspiring others — individuals, families, and organizations — to extend kindness in their own way, to someone or something they care about, during a challenging time.
